Undoubtedly, we all agree that blazers are a must-have wardrobe staple. But how about my not-so-basic Barbie Pink Milly blazer?
Traditionally, a blazer is a double-breasted black or navy high-quality fabric with brass buttons. This unsung fashion hero, the blazer, could elevate any basic outfit.
A great blazer is a capsule investment piece for your wardrobe. A capsule wardrobe is a collection of thoughtfully curated and easily interchangeable items. To maximize the number of outfits you can create. This concept makes sense when traveling to take a few key pieces.
Those old enough probably recall the era of extravagance and excess in the late 1980s into the early 1990s. The power suit for women included a fitted blazer with shoulder pads. Perhaps from the influence of more women working or the nighttime soap opera Dynasty and Dallas?
Earlier this month, I shared a few spring pieces I wanted to add to my closet. This Barbie Pink Milly Blazer is one such item. Unsurprisingly, I relish bold and feminine details; this blazer ticks all the boxes for me and wearing wide-leg pants.
So for this post, What did the Magnificient 8 Instagram blogger group agree upon for our style statement? Blazers for this second installment of our quarterly postings. You may recall in January; the theme was Viva Magenta, the 2023 Pantone color of the year.
As a reminder, the Magnificent eight blogger group showcases our styles across eight generations of fashion and beauty. I usually refer to this group as a bevy of beauty.
Now, don’t forget to check out all the generations of style showcasing the blazer:
Grace @graceful_rags: Collegiate
Mica @awayfromblue: Twenty-something
Roxanne @glassofglam: Thirty-something
Shelbee @shelbeeontheedge: Forty-something
Rena @fine.whatev: Fifty-something
Moi: Sixty-something
Lesley @jtouchofstyle: Seventy-something
Charlotte @jtouchofstyle: Eighty-something
By now, you might gather that pink is my favorite color. This neon pink screams and shouts at me, especially this not-so-basic Barbie Pink Milly Blazer.
Let me know your thoughts on wearing this bold pink.
Until the next time.
