It’s October why so much pink. Here’s a little history about the origins and roots of the pink month. Breast Cancer Awareness campaigns began in 1985 as a partnership between the American Cancer Society and the pharmaceutical division of Imperial Chemicals Industries (ICI.)  Even since then, every October, we see pink.

I must note that ICI Industries later became Zeneca and then Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, my employer, for nearly 25 years. 

Every October, We See Pink

For the past 36 years, It seems that many understand the goal of Breast Cancer Awareness, to educate about breast cancer and early detection tests. By now, we get the message mammograms and self-exams.
